PE and Sports funding

In the academic year of 2016/17, Smallthorne Primary School spent the sports grant of £9170 on the following:

Strategy Cost Impact
1 Expert PE coaches to deliver high quality PE sessions to all pupils and develop staff knowledge of subject. £5324.80 Pupils fully engaged in PE lessons and are developing their skills. Staff CPD and knowledge/skills increased due to observation of skilled practitioners. Staff are now more confident to deliver PE next year.
2 Be Active lunchtime physical activities training for lunchtime staff and all children to promote an active lifestyle. £252.00 This began late in Autumn 2 term so impact not measurable yet.
3 Swimming lessons for all pupils from Year 2 upwards £6420.00 All pupils from Year 2 upwards have the opportunity to swim and develop water confidence and swimming skills. This activity further enriches our PE provision.
